At Arietta, wine and music are inseparable expressions of harmony, structure, and emotion. Founded by Fritz Hatton and Caren Frutig, together with founding winemaker John Kongsgaard, the winery was built on the belief that great wines, like great musical compositions, are defined by balance, precision, and layered complexity.

Today, under the direction of acclaimed winemaker Andy Erickson, Arietta crafts a collection of limited-production, Bordeaux-inspired wines from exceptional vineyard sites across Napa Valley. Working with vineyards selected for their distinctive character, each wine is designed to express both its place of origin and the artistry behind its blend.

The connection to music remains central to Arietta’s identity. Inspired by Fritz Hatton’s lifelong passion for classical music, many of the winery’s wines draw their names and philosophy from musical themes, reflecting the idea that blending wine is much like conducting an orchestra, where individual voices come together to create something greater than the sum of their parts.

The result is a portfolio of wines celebrated for their elegance, balance, and longevity, offering refined expressions of Napa Valley that are crafted with the same precision, harmony, and intention found in great classical music.
