At VGS Château Potelle, winemaking is rooted in a balance of estate identity and thoughtful vineyard sourcing across Napa Valley. Originally founded in 1980 by French-born winemaker Jean-Noël Fourmeaux, the winery is now family-owned and operated by the Lagier family, continuing a legacy of small-production, site-driven wines.

A defining element of the portfolio is the estate vineyard on Mount Veeder, where high-elevation conditions, rocky soils, and cooler temperatures yield wines with structure, intensity, and natural balance. Alongside this estate fruit, VGS Château Potelle works with select vineyard sites throughout Napa Valley, chosen for their distinct character and ability to complement the range.

Winemaking is hands-on and restrained, focused on preserving the integrity of the fruit rather than imposing a uniform style. Each lot is treated individually, allowing both vineyard and vintage to shape the final expression.

The result is a collection of wines that reflect the diversity of Napa Valley—from mountain-grown intensity to valley-floor richness—crafted with precision, clarity, and a commitment to authenticity.
