Telluride Reserve Mountain Village Food & Wine Celebration, August 15 – 18, 2019, is committed to the vitality of the Town of Mountain Village and providing an unrivaled food and wine experience for our guests in terms of both quality and hospitality. With these objectives in mind, Telluride Reserve is seeking volunteers to bring this experience to life in the following areas.

AUGUST 14–18 (WEDNESDAY–SUNDAY)

LOGISTICS & COMMUNICATIONS CENTRAL

The heartbeat of the event located in the logistics and volunteer office. Team members are needed who have strong event volunteer experience, communications and problem-solving skills. Volunteers may work in the office or as a runner to Mountain Village venues. The office will be staffed daily 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Shifts are three hours long.

AUGUST 14–15 (WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY)

GUEST ARRIVALS–MONTROSE & TELLURIDE AIRPORTS

The first impression shared with Telluride Reserve guests.

  • Attired in Telluride Reserve logo wear with welcome sign in hand, greet guests and culinary and wine professionals as they arrive at Montrose (MTJ) and Telluride (TEX) airports.
  • Assist guests with ground transportation, luggage and provide any support that can make the guest’s transition from the airport to their ground transportation seamless.
  • Direct liaison with ground transportation company.
  • Troubleshoot luggage complications with local airline representatives.

Please note: Volunteer are responsible for their own transportation to and from airport shifts.

Four and five hour shifts in teams of four (4) volunteers beginning at 6:00 a.m. in Telluride for the early risers and 8:00 a.m. in Montrose and ending at 9:30 p.m. Four shift options available.

AUGUST 15–18 (THURSDAY–SUNDAY)

EVENT REGISTRATION & GUEST HOSPITALITY EXPERIENCE

Telluride Reserve will welcome guests to enjoy unmatched hospitality during the Mountain Village Food &

Wine Celebration. The guest registration and welcome experience will include a glass of wine or a cocktail, a personalized credential with a lanyard and a snack and gift buffet.

The registration and guest hospitality lounge will be open 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Volunteers will act as event concierges with the ability to answer and troubleshoot a wide range of questions and requests. Shifts are 4.5 hours long and offered in the morning and the afternoon. Volunteers will work in teams of four.


AUGUST 15–17 (THURSDAY–SATURDAY)

TASTE & TERROIR LUNCHES

Guests will experience the best a terroir has to give to the vineyard, the winemaker and the chef. A collection of luxury private homes have been offered as locations for these very special four-course food and wine pairings. Limited to 30 guests, each lunch is hosted by a winemaker and chef.

Taste & Terroir Culinary/Hospitality

  • Each home requires a team of three with culinary/hospitality experience: two members with service experience and one with culinary experience.
  • Volunteers should be available on Thursday for chef prep and Friday and Saturday for chef and wine professional support and guest service.

Taste & Terroir home set and decor volunteers will work as a team responsible for overseeing the movement of existing furniture by moving professionals, the staging of event furniture, tablescapes, guest hospitality and the return of the home to its original state.

  • Each team is responsible for the home for the entire event. Each team should be available for furniture move and staging on Thursday, flexible between noon and 6:00 p.m.
  • Teams should be available to be onsite in homes Friday 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the home is returned to its original state after guest service, which ends at 2:30 p.m.

Transportation guides will move guests from the Mountain Village core to private homes for the Taste & Terroir Lunches and back to the core after the lunches.

  • Volunteers will guide guests to their appropriate transportation and ensure that all are accounted for and delivered and returned from their Taste & Terroir Lunch experiences.
  • Volunteers are needed for split shifts: 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and 2:00p.m.–3:00 p.m.
  • Lunch will be served for volunteers during the gap time.


AUGUST 15 (THURSDAY)

INVITEDHOME SABRAGE WELCOME

Located at The Peaks Mt. Wilson terrace at with spectacular location with front row views of the stunning mountain sunsets. Volunteers will be assigned activities including greeters at the venue and sponsor support.

Two, three-hour shifts are offered: 5:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.–10:30 p.m.


AUGUST 16–17 (FRIDAY–SATURDAY)

TASTEVIN MORNING TASTING SEMINARS

A tastevin is a small, shallow silver cup or saucer, with a thumb-handle, traditionally used by winemakers when judging the maturity, quality, clarity and the taste of a wine. The tastevin is the perfect icon for the one-hour tasting seminars to be held at three locations: The Peaks Resort, the Telluride Ski and Golf Member’s Lounge at Heritage Plaza and The Madeline Resort.

Shifts are 9:00 a.m.–noon


AUGUST 16–17 (FRIDAY & SATURDAY)

HYDRATION AMBASSADORS

At 9,500+ feet elevation, hydration will be an important safety element of Telluride Reserve.

  • Three Hydration Ambassadors will roam the event in a playful manner wearing a backpack water dispenser encouraging guests to refill their water bottles or by offering those they encounter wearing an event credential a glass of water.
  • This is a great way to enjoy the weather and get your steps in.

Volunteers are needed for a split shift: 11:00 a.m. – 12:30p.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Lunch will be served for volunteers during the gap time.


AUGUST 16–17 (FRIDAY & SATURDAY)

THE AFTERNOON POUR TASTING SEMINARS

The ideal place to spend an afternoon is soaking up the sun or taking in a view of the San Juans. We’ll gather in our favorite Mountain Village locations for tastings that illustrate the creativity of our chefs and their wine partners. Each Afternoon Pour is limited to 50 guests. The one-hour tasting seminars will be held at three locations: The Peaks Resort, the Telluride Ski and Golf Member’s Lounge at Heritage Plaza and The Madeline Resort.

Shifts are 2:30 p.m.–5:30 p.m.


AUGUST 18 (SUNDAY)

BON VOYAGE BRUNCH

Brunch pairings will nourish our guests and re-energize them for their travels with memories of their Telluride Reserve experience. Brunch will be held at The Peaks Resort on the Mt. Wilson Terrace.

One 3.5 hour shift is available: 9:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.


AUGUST 18 –19 (SUNDAY–MONDAY)

GUEST DEPARTURES: MONTROSE & TELLURIDE AIRPORTS

The last impression Telluride Reserve leaves with guests as they depart.

  • Attired in Telluride Reserve logo wear, greet guests and culinary and wine professionals as their ground transportation arrives at Telluride and Montrose Airports.
  • Assist guests with luggage and provide any support that can make the guest’s transition from their ground transportation to TSA security seamless.
  • Direct liaison with ground transportation company.

Please note: Volunteer are responsible for their own transportation to and from airport shifts.

Three and four hour shifts in teams of four (4) volunteers beginning at 6:00 a.m. at both airports and ending at 9:00 p.m. Four shift options available.
