ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS


What is the age requirement for volunteers?
Since wine service is a component of the event, volunteers must be at least 21 years of age.

How much time must a volunteer commit?
You will be assigned a minimum of 8 hours.

What are the perks of volunteering?
In exchange for a minimum of 8 hours of work, a volunteer will receive a $200 Telluride Ski & Golf gift card.

What is the application process?
STEP 1: COMPLETE VOLUNTEER APPLICATION. Please keep in mind that this information will be used to create your volunteer schedule. Please see descriptions and registration form for shift dates, timing and length. Please note special interests, skills and include the names of FRIENDS with whom you would like to volunteer. Only applications filled out in their entirety will be considered.

STEP 2: Save your confirmation email.

Cancellation and failure to complete confirmed volunteer hours.
If volunteer hours are not completed, no gift card will be issued. Gift cards will not be prorated relative to the number of hours worked.

Is camping or lodging included with volunteering?
No, camping and lodging are not included. Telluride Mountain Village lodging partners have been encouraged to offer preferred rates to volunteers.

Can I participate in wine tastings?
Telluride Reserve is committed to creating unmatched event hospitality for guests. This requires that all volunteers be sober and attentive.

Can I volunteer with a friend?
Please do! We believe that volunteering with a friend makes the experience more enjoyable. We will make every effort to schedule your shifts with your friend(s). Please make sure that you complete the FRIENDS section of the volunteer application.

Are specific volunteer roles guaranteed?
Every effort will be made to assign volunteers to their area of expressed interest however, roles cannot be guaranteed.

Are pre- and post-event volunteer shifts available?
Yes, please see the volunteer roles and responsibilities descriptions section.

What is the volunteer check-in process?
STEP 1: Volunteers must sign-in and show photo I.D. at one of the two Volunteer Training Sessions on Tuesday, August 13 or Wednesday, August 14.

STEP 2: Arrive at the Volunteer Office 15 minutes prior to your shift to sign-in and receive uniform accessories and name badge. Please note that you will be asked to show photo I.D.

Can my children accompany me while volunteering?
Children may not accompany volunteers during shifts. To create unmatched event hospitality for guests, the full attention of volunteers is needed.

What training is required for volunteers?
Event orientation, basic wine and meal service and hospitality training is required for all volunteers. Two sessions will be available: Tuesday, August 13, 6:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, August 14, 9:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m. All trainings will be at The Peaks Resort.

What if I cannot make the volunteer meetings?
Consistent volunteer training is the foundation of the guest experience. Attendance at one meeting is mandatory to learn the responsibilities of your volunteer position and to meet the supervisor responsible for the success of your team.

What should volunteers bring/wear to their shifts?
• Arrive clean, wearing black pants, black closed-toe shoes, black belt and a clean, solid-colored, long sleeve, collared shirt, tucked into pants.
• A rain jacket, as August afternoon monsoons can be expected.
• A reusable water bottle.

What are the general expectations of volunteers?
• Complete scheduled volunteer shifts.
• Arrive 15 minutes early for scheduled shifts.
• To NOT be under the influence of alcohol or drugs during shifts.
• Arrive clean, wearing black pants, black closed-toe shoes, black belt and a clean, solid-colored, long sleeve, collared shirt, tucked into pants.
• Act as a guest ambassador offering respect, hospitality and support to guests and culinary and wine professional talent with every interaction.

What if there is a problem during my shift?
All volunteers will be given the phone number to the central Volunteer and Logistics center. Venue leaders are also available at each property. Security and Emergency Medical Technicians are available and on call during the event.
